YouTube generates 49% more in Ad revenue
With the increase of digital media especially during the last year of the Covid-19 crisis, the promotion of business and other fields have been done through YouTube. After the boost of digital media mainly YouTube, the typical promotion of business and other sectors have been changed. Therefore, YouTube generates 49% more in Ad revenue. Previously, mainly promotions were done through mainstream media or maybe print media. But now things have changed dramatically. From now, people have shifted their promotion platforms to YouTube. In recent times, YouTube has become the first choice for the consumers of video content.
Alphabet, YouTube’s parent company has reported its earnings in the first quarter of 2021. The report shows that YouTube has generated $6 billion in terms of ad revenue for the first quarter of this year. Furthermore, this is more than 49% from the previous year. This result of Ad revenue has put YouTube on the top of the list of earnings beating its digital video rival Netflix.
The increase in Ad revenue indicates that the users of YouTube are not only on mobile phones or PC/Desktop but also on the Smart Home TV(s). Though in the past, mobile phone consumers were the biggest percentage for YouTube, but from now Home TV screens are gradually increasing. In the last quarter of the previous year, more than 120 million people in the U.S. streamed YouTube on their TV screens. As a result, it seems like a new viewing behaviour has been developed among people. Therefore, a new generation of users and viewers are using YouTube mainly on a bigger screen(s).
After increasing YouTube on the TV screen, there’s a chance of eclipsing traditional TV channels. After this, there will be more opportunities for the advertisers to show their ads of products. Moreover, this would be also beneficial for the company as they will generate more from Ad revenue.
