WhatsApp tested Chat Migration Tool for Android

WhatsApp tested chat migration tool for Android users. According to the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.21.9.7 update, the update shows that Facebook-owned Company has been working on the chat migration feature. The beta test shows that WhatsApp has been testing a new chat migration tool for a long time. As per the reports, with the help of this new feature, the users can transfer their chats from Android to iOS. However, this new feature is still in progress.

According to WABetaInfo, this step has taken due to third-party apps that were violating the company’s Terms of Service. The third-party apps were using the name of WhatsApp and they were migrating the chats of users. Previously, this migration tool was reportedly being tested for iOS. Although from now, this feature has been testing for Android users. This means that the WhatsApp beta update shows that the company has finally started to develop the transfer chat feature for Android.

Last year, WABetaInfo reported about an update that could sync chat history across all platforms of OS. Surprisingly, WABetainfo claims that the method of transferring chat history between Android and iOS has not been confirmed.  It also announced that there are chances of using Google Drive to store the chat history to import to WhatsApp for Android users.

Recently, WhatsApp was testing a 24 hours option for disappearing messages on Android, iOS, and Web/ desktop version of it. This new feature of migration will be an addition to the already available option of WhatsApp that allows users to set a 7-day time period for disappearing messages. The new update will be seen where users can enable/ disable disappearing messages for personal as well as for group chats, WABetaInfo announced.
