Smartphones manufacturers are working on under-display cameras
As per the leaks from different sources, several smartphones manufacturers are working on under-display cameras. The smartphones manufacturers include Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, ZTE, and Meizu. All these companies will be making the next-generation cameras i.e under-display cameras. All the companies will possibly roll out their new devices with an under-display camera from the next year.
Previously, in the last year, ZTE launched the world’s first phone with an under-display camera called ZTE Axon 20 5G. After this launch, the hype was created for the competition of under-display cameras. However, in terms of quality-wise, the camera wasn’t efficient. Now, ZTE announced that their upcoming model will come with enhanced under-display cameras. The company also admitted that they were lacking the quality of under-display cameras in ZTE Axon 20 5G.
Furthermore, according to Ice Universe, Samsung and Oppo’s devices that use under-display cameras will be coming in foldable models, whereas Xiaomi’s upcoming model will be the Mi Mix 4. Unfortunately, many of the above-mentioned manufacturers haven’t confirmed whether they are making under-display cameras or not.
As we all know that Samsung will be launching two foldable phones later this year. The devices include Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip2. Therefore, there’s a possibility of under-display cameras in them.
There are also rumours of Vivo’s NEX 5 for the under-display camera. Vivo’s NEX 5 will be coming with an improved version of under-display cameras from the previous one. This Vivo’s model will come in the third- quarter of this year. Moreover, these are only the rumours, nothing came official.
Although the leaker Ice Universe didn’t reveal the source of this information but it has a decent track record of credibility. So we can predict that under-display cameras will be the punch-hole cameras for smartphones of 2021.
