OnePlus Nord 2 5G debuts as a “Flagship Killer” with a reasonable price

OnePlus Nord 2 5G provides top-notch specs while keeping the price of a mid-ranger. Therefore, the smartphone has been assigned the name of “flagship killer”. Since if you’re willing to buy a flagship handset and you don’t have a budget of over $1000, so Nord 2 5G will provide you with similar specs at the price of mid-range. From display to the processor, almost everything in the phone has been top-ended.

Surprisingly, the handset comes with a MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 AI SoC, under the hood. Before this handset, the company didn’t use any of its processors. Hence, OnePlus is making history after using MediaTek’s chipset for the first time. Although according to some experts, the Dimensity 1200 AI processor isn’t compatible with the device’s hardware and UI. Some experts believe that Dimensity 1200 AI is compatible with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset. That means, the latest chipsets from various companies that are being used by many flagships, which is Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 are better than MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. On the other hand, MediaTek is also debuting its 1300T processor for fulfilling its gap of Snapdragon 888 chipset. Anyhow, this close-to flagship processor will be pairing with 6GB, 8GB, or 12GB RAM along with 128/256GB storage options.

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G comes in three colors which are given below:

  • The signature Blue Haze
  • Gray Sierra with a textured sparkling finish at the backside
  • The India-exclusive Green Woods which has vegan leather back

The Nord 2 5G comes with a single selfie camera of 32MP instead of a dual-camera like its previous model. The single-camera will be good for video or image consumption as the front notch will not disturb you, however, you will miss out on the ultra-wide-angle while image capturing.

The mobile will come with a triple rear camera setup with the Sony IMX 766 sensor just like OnePlus 9 Pro camera. The main shooter or camera comes with a 50MP sensor. Not only this, the device’s camera also got OIS or optical image stabilization for shake-free shots and videos. Other than OIS, it also contains Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR) that helps in to synthesize the data from two images into one end shot of the camera. The other two cameras come up with an 8MP ultrawide snapper and a 2MP monochrome sensor.

The phone comes up with a large 4500mAh battery that supports 65W Warp Charge.

While in the case of speakers of the mobile phones, the phone comes with dual speakers as compared to the single firing grille, likewise its predecessor. The device comes with the latest Android version of Android 11 alongside the Android skin of Oxygen OS 11.3. The BBK-owned company claimed for giving two major Android updates as well as three years of security patch updates in the smartphones.
