iPhones will have 120Hz Samsung screens
The South Korean technology giant has confirmed that the upcoming models of iPhone i.e. iPhone 13 models will be using Samsung made AMOLED screens. Moreover, iPhone 13 models will be having a 120Hz refresh rate. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be using the LTPO AMOLED display made by Samsung Display, according to the company. As a reminder, Apple has been planning to roll out four new iPhone models or variants this year. Not only this, this will be the first time that the iPhone handset will be having screens of 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, Apple neither denied nor accepted the rumours.
As per the leaks, Samsung will be the major supplier of display panels for the iPhone 13. Samsung is expected to supply 110 million panels for iPhone 13. Also, LG will supply 50 million displays and BOE 9 million, according to the reports.
Previously, the iPhone 12 series were having a 60Hz refresh rate display. But the upcoming models of iPhone 13 will be having twice the refresh rate display than previous ones. As per the information, a 120Hz refresh rate screen means the screen will refresh 120 times in a second. Additionally, videos and games look absolutely stunning on a 120Hz display. The higher refresh rates are the latest trends in the smartphones industry. Unfortunately, Apple is the newest to adopt a 120Hz refresh rate display. Other smartphone giants like Samsung, One Plus and Xiaomi have been already using a 120Hz display in their handsets.
Not only this, but Samsung Electro-Mechanics will also supply the Rigid Flexible Printed Circuit Boards (RFPCB) for iPhone 13 models. RFPCBs are used to connect the OLED panel to the main circuit board. This board is rigid but can be folded as the name shows. It allows convenient product designs as well as faster transmission of electric signals. Unfortunately, RFPCBs are more expensive than traditional FPCBs.
