iPhone Users Can’t Use WhatsApp Anymore
The world’s biggest messaging App WhatsApp is working to develop a new update that will restrict iPhone users from using WhatsApp. According to reports, the changes in WhatsApp will restrict some iPhone users from using the application. The restrictions will be among those that have an old iOS version. The new iOS users or latest iPhone holders will be freely using WhatsApp. It doesn’t mean the iPhone users can’t use WhatsApp. This policy is for users with older iOS.
Currently, WhatsApp has 2 billion-plus downloads worldwide on both the Apple Store and Google Play Store. WhatsApp reportedly working on an update that will assure that it will not be compatible with the old IOS version. WABetainfo said in a Twitter post that the WhatsApp beta version of 2.21.50 drawbacks the support for iOS 9. That means the people who have iPhone 4s or older iPhones will not be compatible to use WhatsApp anymore. Fortunately, the users with an iPhone 5 or upgraded models can continue to use WhatsApp. However, Earlier, WhatsApp has officially released the voice and video calling features on its desktop versions.
There’s been a significant increase in people calling one another on WhatsApp or for long conversations in a chat. Last New Year’s Eve, WhatsApp broke the record for the most calls ever made in a single day. Last New Year’s Eve people made 1.4 billion voice and video calls. Despite being far away from their loved ones so many people keep connected through WhatsApp.
Previously, the app was updated to remove support for older iOS back in February 2020. The update was to remove the support with iOS 8. However, iPhone 4s users could still update to iOS 9 to keep using WhatsApp. Unfortunately, this is not possible on today’s date.
