From now you can change names of YouTube Channels

From now you can change names of YouTube channels without changing your Google account. Therefore, it won’t affect your Google account from where the YouTube channel was created. YouTube creators will now have the option to have different channel’s name from Google account. Previously, YouTube channels owners were unable to change their name due to the policy of Google. Finally, the Google-owned video platform is allowing channels owners to change their channel name and profile picture without changing Google’s account. This new update was rolled out on April 23 2021. This was one of the most requested updates from the users and content creators.

Moreover, the new update of changing name will be helpful for those who want to keep only one Google account for YouTube, Gmail and other Google services. This means channels owners won’t need to make an extra Google account for the specific channel for the sake of a new name. Unfortunately, if the YouTube channel has a verification badge and the creator wants to change its name then it could lose the badge. YouTube channel owners will have to apply for the verification badge again if they change their YouTube channel. It will definitely disappoint the holders of the verification badge.

Personal YouTubers and brand accounts holders can also start changing their channel name after this update. Additionally, the new update allows creators to use one of their names for their YouTube channel and other names for their messages sent from their Google account.

Youtube help-page:

Surprisingly, on YouTube’s help page, the company has not updated about the new feature. This means the help page of YouTube does not provide any information yet regarding the name change of channel without changing Gmail. However, on the help page of YouTube, it claims that a channel’s name can be changed three times after every 90 days.
