The Honor announced officially that its upcoming 50 series of smartphones i.e. Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro will be having Google’s apps and software. To recall, these handsets are now only rolled out in China. The officials of Honor claimed in a statement that their upcoming devices will now be going through Google’s security review and therefore their devices will have pre-installed Google Mobile Services (GMS). Notably, the Google Mobile Services will only available in the compatible devices of Honor that are too following Google’s licensing and governance models or programs.

Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro

According to the spokesperson of Honor, the users will be experiencing Google Mobile Services (GMS) within their handsets even after the ban of America on Chinese products. After the launch of the Honor 50 series in the Chinese market, there are chances of these models to be launch in the following big international markets at different price and date:

  • France
  • Malaysia
  • Mexico
  • Russia
  • Saudi Arabia
  • The United Kingdom

Reports of returning Google OS on Honor devices came in the last month after its parent company-Huawei sold the company. As per the reports, Huawei sold out Honor so that it can work with Google applications and Android. To recall, after Huawei was put under sanctions by the US, the company has been using its own HarmonyOS as a substitute. Moreover, the selling of Honor (company) is considered a great step for the company and is being appreciated by analysts and experts.

The return of Google software and apps in Honor phones will not make so many changes in the Chinese market as people are used to using the phone without GMS. However, in the West or European markets, it could definitely make a change after it’s released there-9. Before it was banned from Google and was using HarmonyOS, its parent company and it was not recommended in the big international markets.

Pricing of Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro models:

As these 50 series of smartphones from Honor will first arrive in China, therefore the pricing also comes in Chinese currency. The Honor 50 will be selling at 2,699 yuan, approximately $422 according to current exchange rates. On the other hand, the Honor 50 Pro will price at 3,699 yuan approximately $578 as per current exchange rates. Despite the two flagship smartphones from Honor, the Junior Huawei has also announced the cheaper model of the series commonly known as 50 SE. The Honor 50 SE will be pricing at 2,399 yuan or $375, according to the sources.
