The emerging cryptocurrency, Dogecoin hit a record high of $0.298 as on Friday morning, Elon Musk tweeted about Dogecoin. From now Dogecoin has placed itself in the top 10 cryptocurrencies in the world. On April 15, the CEO of Tesla Elon Musk tweeted that says “Doge Barking at the moon.” However, as we all know this tweet was about Dogecoin cryptocurrency. Moreover, he also added a photo in his tweet of a painting by Spanish artist Joan Miró. Tesla’s CEO has over 51 million followers on his Twitter account. Musk has been tweeting about Dogecoin for months. Elon’s meme-like content on Twitter has given rise to Bitcoin and other Bitcoin’s alternatives.
In the past tweets of Musk, he had always been highlighting Dogecoin as one of the top cryptocurrencies in the world. According to CNN, the shares of Dogecoin went up 14 per cent at the time.
Musk tweeted on July 17, 2020, with a Shiba Inu face that says “it’s inevitable”. After that, Shiba Inu’s face has featured on Dogecoin’s logo.
As per CNN reported, On December 20, Elon Musk tweeted just “One word: Doge,” rising Dogecoin shares up almost 20 per cent and makes Dogecoin the top trends on Twitter”.
As per today’s date, Dogecoin is now a top 10 digital currency with a total market value of $34 billion. The data was given by CoinGecko and reported by CBNC. According to CNBC, Dogecoin has risen by 300 per cent in value in the past seven days especially after Musk’s tweet.
On April 1, April Fools’ Day, Musk tweeted that SpaceX is going to put a Dogecoin on the moon. Some took this tweet as a joke or prank and some take this as serious. However, after this tweet, within four hours, the tweet had gained about 200,000 likes and 22,500 retweets. The shares of Dogecoin had increased by 38 per cent.
