Apple starts mass production of M2 chip
Apple starts mass production of M2 chip, as per reports. According to the leaks, M1X or the M2 chip will be used in new MacBook Pro models that probably would launch this summer. Previously, all the Macs that are launched had used the same processor known as M1. Moreover, M1 was the first chip in the family of Apple. Tipsters leak that the production of M2 chip started in April. Furthermore, the chip will be completed by July. The tech giant, Apple along with its chip production partner TSMC had started mass production on the M2.
As a reminder, last week Apple hosted its event where the company launched the new iPad Pro duo and the new Mac(s) powered with an M1 chip or processor. But from now, Apple aims to launch bug MacBook Pro(s) models and with the fastest processors or chips. Therefore, Apple has started mass production of M2 chip. The production of the new M2 chipset indicated that Apple’s wants to eliminate Intel chips and processor for its Mac(s) in future. Apple claimed, the M1 delivers CPU performance up to 85 per cent faster in Mac(s) as compared to an iMac. Though, both iMac and MacBook use an Intel chipset. Additionally, the graphics performance of M1 is twice to the iPad Pro, according to Apple.
The details show that the M2 will be based on the N5P process. Previously, M1 chips were based on the N5 process. The new architecture or design of the chip will provide 20% speed enhancement and a 40% reduction in power consumption. This means the new M2 chip will be 5nm thick as compared to the 7nm chipset of the older processor.
Fortunately, M2 will be adding more CPU and GPU cores. Previously, the M1 chip had 4 large CPU cores and 4 small ones alongside 7 or 8 GPU cores. However, M1-powered computers had revitalized Apple’s computer business. According to the reports, Macs with M2 chipset will further enhance the computer business of Apple.
