Android 12 Beta version 2: coming to Pixel devices and brings privacy features

Since Google launched the Android 12 Beta version 2 in the last month, but from now the company has been willing to roll out beta version 2 on the Pixel devices. Moreover, Android 12 beta 2 will also be coming with new features of privacy. To recall, Android 12 beta is the most downloaded beta version in the history of Android. The news of beta 1 and beta 2 of Android 12 was broken at the developer conference of Google I/O.  Although when Google released the first Android 12 beta after its I/O conference, it didn’t have most of the privacy features. However, as per the coming reports, the upcoming beta 2 of Android 12 on Pixels devices will have new and updated privacy features. Therefore, the changes from the previous version of the operating system are releasing in the Android 12 Beta version 2.

Privacy features of Android 12 Beta version 2:

Additionally, after the release, Google emphasized the addition of new privacy features which are as below:

  1. A privacy dashboard 
  2. Microphone and camera toggles and indicators
  3. Clipboard read notification
  4. Updated Wi-Fi UX experience
  5. revamped Wi-Fi experience

List of Pixel devices receiving Android 12 Beta 2:

Moreover, Android 12 Beta 2 is available to download or install for Google Pixel phones. The Pixel devices which will be receiving Android 12 Beta 2 include:

  • Google Pixel 3
  • Pixel 3 XL
  • Pixel 3a
  • Google Pixel 3a XL
  • Google Pixel 4
  • Pixel 4 XL
  • Pixel 4a
  • Google Pixel 4a 5G
  • Google Pixel 5

As we all know, Beta 1 was only limited to some devices at that time due to some reasons. But from now, beta 2 for the public is available for almost every device or mobile phone manufacturer companies. Previously, Google left it to the OEM to push an update to Beta 2 for its supported devices such as Pixel.

After the release of beta 2 of Android 12, there’re now still 2 more beta versions for a full and stable release of the new operating system. Notably, the full and final Android 12 will be coming to the new smart devices in the last quarter of this year. Furthermore, the release of “Platform Stability” will be rolling out in August 2021. This stability will be released alongside what’s presumably Beta 4. After this, app-facing system behaviours, the lists of SDK/NDK APIs and non-SDK will also be finalized.

Apart from Android smartphones, Beta 2 will also be available to download for Android TVs.
