A Chrome bug might reveal user location history

According to the Committee on Liberatory Information Technology, a Chrome bug might reveal user location history. As per Google, the platform has a stricter policy regarding the location histories of its users. As we all know there are always some bugs, errors and glitches in the apps and websites that might affect the performance of the website or application. The bug exists due to Chrome OS’s constant sharing of information with the Internet provider to enhance the users’ experience. So far, a Google representative or spokesperson has stated that they are investigating the issue of revealing the user location history.  if Someone has physical access to your Chromebook, he/she could sign in with a  Guest mode and view your Wi-Fi logs to know your location history.

Before the issue is resolved, users can avoid such tracking by disabling guest browsing mode in the settings. Also, a device owner using chrome OS can only allow the guest users to run their device by first having the guest sign into his/her own account. Once finished, the guest should immediately log out, and the original account holder should use the user drop-down menu to remove the guest from the device before Chrome can share information with the internet.
